Teenage Years Parent Coaching Course
"Adolescence is a period of rapid changes.  Between the ages of 12 and 17, for example, a parent ages as much as 20 years"  Author Unknown
I learnt lots of different techniques for dealing with different situations & plenty on what to do when it all goes wrong...I feel a lot more positive about having children entering teenage life, and much better equipped to deal with the types of issues that we will face"   Parent I have done both courses (The Foundation Years and Teenage Years Courses) and quite frankly they have been a life-saver for me.  Apart from giving me a chance to sit down and think about family life, they have given me lots of different techniques or 'tools' for dealing with different situations".  Parent The overall approach is to prevent issues happening, create positive relationships, meaningful dialogue (what with teenagers I hear you say?!) and clear boundaries.  But there's also plenty on what to do when it all goes wrong - there is no expectation of perfection - the tutors running the course are very realistic and down to earth so I didn't feel nervous about admitting my 'failures' - far more I was so glad to have the opportunity to work out how to put them right or avoid them in the future. In my view it's worth every penny - the ability to prevent problems and to feel that every evening is not a struggle and is even enjoyable being with your children is very valuable!"  C, mother of 2
